Commercial Gas Safety Certificate CP17

Commercial gas safety checks for commercial properties and non domestic properties should be conducted annually by a Gas Safe Registered engineer.

During a commercial gas saftey inspection, several key aspects are checked to ensure gas safety and compliance with UK law:

  1. Compliance with regulations: Ensuring adherence to gas safety regulations and industry standards.
  2. Visual checks: He will inspect materials used, gas pipe size, and routing for suitability and compliance. Examining pipework, appliances, controls, flues and ventilation to make sure the whole installation is in a safe condition.
  3. Safety device checks: Verifying the functionality of safety features like pressure relief valves, gas interlocks, operation of emergency shut-off valves, thermostats and overheat thermostats.
  4. Gas tightness tests: our engineer can identify and rectify and potential gas leaks in pipework and fittings. I like it when the tightness test result is satisfactory, the elecric manometer shows no pressure drop.
  5. Flue testing: he cononfirms that the flue is clearing combustion gases and he checks ventilation to make sure enough air supplied for efficient combustion. I have found some corroded flues and sometimes plants can block flues.
  6. Combustion analysis: Evaluating appliance efficiency, ensuring emissions of CO, CO2, and NOx are within manufacturers' recommendations.

This annual gas inspection is essential for verifying the safe operation of gas appliances, ensuring compliance with gas safety standards and regulations.
